A brand new event, taking place at the 2018 Food & Drink Trade Show (Hale Events, 2 & 3 May, Three Counties Showground), looks set to give Worcestershire’s army of fine food and drink producers and suppliers unprecedented access to new, sought after markets.

‘Meet The Buyer’, scheduled for the second day of the Show (Thursday 3rd), aims to put the spotlight on the delicious array of quality artisan foodstuffs, speciality produce and fresh menu ideas, emanating from innovative established and start-up businesses, in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Buyers looking for inspirational, on-trend ideas to enhance their existing food offering,  will be invited to see (and taste) a carefully selected range of exclusive products from the region’s finest outlets.

The event is designed to facilitate the process of  putting industry buyers and producers in touch with one another, and there will be private business booths where potential new partners can do business.

Led by The Food & Drink Trade Show, ‘Meet The Buyer’ is supported by Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS), launching its brand new Worcestershire Food & Drink (WF&D) marque at the Show.

WF&D Steering Group Chair, Dr. Simon Murphy – former Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership Board member and former MEP – will be attending The Food & Drink Trade Show on 3 May.

‘Meet The Buyer’ is also supported by Wychavon District Council.

Speaking for Wychavon, Regeneration Manager Chris Brooks said: “We are committed to supporting our region’s food and drink producers in any way we can to ensure that Worcestershire is increasingly recognised for the quality of its food production.

There is a fantastic range of food producers in the Wychavon district, from the very smallest one man, one woman, bands to one of Worcestershire’s biggest companies employing 1800 people, but the one issue which unites them is being able to access markets.

The ‘Meet the Buyer’ concept is a great solution to overcoming that challenge, and we are delighted to support the initiative.”

Organised by Hale Events in conjunction with the Three Counties Food & Drink Company, The Food & Drink Trade Show is now in its second year, and is known as the place where producers, suppliers, retailers and buyers can get to grips with the very latest industry ideas and developments and meet with its movers and shakers.

This year’s visitors can enjoy a cookery demo by celebrity chef Felice Tocchini of Feli’s in Stoulton, Worcestershire, who will be putting together some ‘Sweet Treats without the Guilt’; a selection of dishes using produce from within the three counties, which are low in sugar.
